Spinner: Spin and Win

Instructions:

  • The first player to reach 100 wins the game. Watch your score as well as the red line to see how close you are to 100. The red line moves from the start to the finish line. When a player reaches 100, you will hear 3 beeps, the player will be announced as the winner, and the game is reset. At anytime, you can restart the game by clicking the reset button.

Suggested Lessons or Activities:

  • The game provides opportunities to discuss probability and other concepts in math. There are scoreboards for each player and students can also view their progress on a scale. When I used it in the classroom, I divided the class into two groups. Occasionally I would ask:
    "How many more points does group 1 need to win the game?" "How many more points does group 1 have than group 2?" "At this point in the game, who is more likely to win?" etc.
